Fair Trade Week

You have now created your fruit juice. Post below the costs for each ingredient, where they were sourced from, the money that you have paid your farmer and how much profit you can make.

Remember:




  • Food Miles cost 1p per 100 miles if sourced from outside the UK


  • Food miles cost 1p per mile if sourced from inside the UK


  • A living wage for a farmer is 30p per fruit


  • Your drink must cost £3.00

    Grapefruits=11p from Chichester road in Portsmouth. Miles= 11
    Lemons=3p from Monco in France. Miles=300.

    Our profit: £1.86. I'd like to see everyone beat THAT!

  3. Our food miles cost 80p. We paid the farmer £1.20 and our profit is £1. our total coast is £3. The cost of the lemons in Spain, Valinsia was 12p and the food miles for this are 1211. The cost of the oranges were from America, New York were 34p and the food miles for this were 3421. The cost of the apples in America, New York was 34p and the food miles for this are 3421.
